January 2016, The European Parliament Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety hosted a workshop on Food Contact Material. The focus of the workshop was how to ensure food safety and technological innovation in the future. Presentation by speakers from academia, NGOs, industry, and European Commission were presented, offering multiple perspectives on the topic. Children articles, toys, and furniture were mentioned several times by both Members of the European Parliament, and environmental NGOs.
