May 2015, The European Nursery Products Confederation (ENPC) appointed Robert Anslow, managing director of the UK’s Baby Products Association as its new president at its recent AGM, a term he will serve for two years. Now in its fourth year, the ENPC’s office is based in Brussels and the association represents and promotes the European nursery product sector in Europe. It plays an active role in the development of product standards to ensure the safety of childcare products, lobbies MEPs and raises awareness of relevant issues with the European Commission. Besides its work in the CEN/TC 252 Committee, the Confederation is also involved in the preparation of changes to the high quality standards within the framework of the General Products Safety Directive. The mission of the ENPC is to work with the EU Institution and International Organisations in order to guarantee child safety; to partner the European standardisation bodies in safety standards; to fight counterfeiting and respect intellectual property rights; to eliminate barriers to trade and to support ethical manufacturing.
