17 September 2015, France’s Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (Anses) has published a priority list of 31 substances, for a labelling scheme covering chemical emissions from furniture. Since 2013, it has been mandatory, under French law, to label construction products with emission levels for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). But the Ministry of Ecology, according to its national health and environment plan, intends to extend the scheme to furniture.
